Justin was born in Fort Payne, Alabama and raised in Rome, Georgia. While in Rome, Mr. Askew discovered a love for numbers and calculations and went on to manage multi-million dollar financial portfolios for national and international institutions. Mr. Askew obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of the South in economics and later earned a Masters of Accounting and Finance Management (MAFM) from DeVry. A highlight of Mr. Askew’s career is managing a corporate lending portfolio for more than 670 loans that totaled approximately $520 million.
Mr. Askew’s most recent role as director of finance at Atlanta Life Insurance Company serves as the culmination of his finance, economics, and leadership experience. As director of finance, Mr. Askew oversaw the day-to-day operations and financial dealings of the life and property and casualty insurance company across 18 states in the U.S. Additionally, Mr. Askew is responsible for the overhaul of the company’s accounts payable and receivable processes, as well as the enhancement of financial reporting structure. Mr. Askew also led the charge to revise quarterly, annual, and statutory financial standards to align with generally accepted accounting principles, or GAAP.

Mr. Askew is married to his wife, Dawn, and they have two daughters, Jordan and Jada. When he has free time, Mr. Askew enjoys traveling with his family, reading, watching and playing sports, and volunteering in his community.
